The time of your new home build depends on if it is a fully custom home or a semi-custom home.
Semi-custom homes generally have a pre-construction period of a month and then a construction period of about 6 months.
Custom homes take a little longer. The pre-construction phase typically lasts 2-3 months and the construction phase lasts 8-10 months.
There are two primary types of new construction homes that you can build on your own lot – custom homes and semi-custom homes.
A custom home requires the most involvement and is always the most complex new home to build. Custom homes require new designs, plans and every detail to come from scratch.
Semi-custom homes begin with a floor plan. From there you can customize the floor plan to make it meet your needs and wants. For example, you may choose to alter the floor plan itself. Or you may just select features from our semi-custom standards guide like flooring and countertops.
