General Construction Laborer

$17 – $24/hr

The General Construction Laborer assists with all phases of construction projects by performing various physical tasks on job sites. This position supports skilled tradespeople, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and ensures that materials, tools, and equipment are used efficiently to meet project schedules and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist carpenters, masons, equipment operators, and other skilled trades as directed.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment on job sites.
  • Prepare and clean construction sites by removing debris, digging trenches, and setting up scaffolding or temporary structures.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble building materials under supervision.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites, vehicles, and storage areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or superintendent.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous construction or labor experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of basic construction tools and materials.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Commitment to following all safety guidelines and company policies.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Exposure to loud noises, dust, and heavy equipment.
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.
