Here’s a checklist of education-related questions to think about when building your next home:

Choosing where to build your new home based on the school district
Choosing where to build your new home based on the school district

Are the school test scores strong?
Strong test scores indicate a high-quality institution. Most schools will showcase whether or not they’re a top-performing institution on their website.

Are online reviews positive or negative?
If there are several unfavorable Google reviews, you might think twice about building your home in that school district.

Does the institution offer specialty classes?
If your child needs specialty classes, make sure the school they’ll be attending has the appropriate personnel to give them the attention they deserve.

Is there a bus stop near your home?
You don’t want your children to have to walk too far! Make sure a bus stop is within walking distance if you plan on having the bus take your children to school.

How far away is the school from your home?
Location matters! A long drive to school can become tiresome. Try to find a home that’s within a reasonable distance from your place of work.

Does the school offer after-school care?
Many learning institutions will offer after-school care for children who have late-working parents. However, some schools aren’t capable of providing that kind of extended care due to personnel constraints.

Which high school does the grade school feed into?
Your kids will most likely want to go where their friends are going. Sometimes it’s nice to know that your children can maintain and strengthen their grade school friendships through high school.
